Sefton Primary School Sports At Sefton Primary School, we believe that sport plays a vital role in supporting the physical, social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of our children. Our simple and free daily initiative encourages pupils to run or jog for 15 minutes every day — making fitness fun and accessible for everyone. Through primary school sports and athletics, children learn to run, jump, and throw, developing key physical skills such as speed, coordination, balance, and stamina. Activities like sprints, relays, and long-distance runs are built into lessons, sports days, and after-school clubs. The benefits go far beyond physical health: improved cardiovascular fitness, greater confidence, and a love of movement all contribute to a holistic approach to wellbeing. Our aim is to nurture lifelong healthy habits and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
